The Head of State reminded that the new Law "On Education" provided guarantees for teaching children and young people with special educational needs on a par with other students in the inclusive educational environment. He also noted that his wife, Maryna Poroshenko, paid special attention to this issue and made a lot of efforts to introduce inclusive education in Ukraine.

The President says that this year, 8212 inclusive classes are planned to open, which is 40% more than in the previous year.

"I draw your attention - in one year. Maryna clearly told me that - in one year we increased the number of classes by 40%. Imagine the number of people we have brought back to normal life. We respect people with special needs," Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

"It's not just the attitude of a student, a school principal or a minister. This is the attitude of the country. This is a test of the country to be European and civilized," the President summed up, speaking about the introduction of inclusive education. "We will no longer have new schools that are not suitable for children with special needs," he said.

The Head of State noted that the problem of inappropriateness of educational institutions for the education of children with special needs had not been resolved everywhere yet. He addressed the Government and local authorities to pay more attention to accelerating the implementation of relevant programs.
